Recently I got a 1GB usb memory stick with a CDFS partition that could not be removed and another partition I could use as normal. My inital searches came up with information regard a U3 uninstalleror using the Microsoft Management Console, all dead ends for me.
WARNING : I am almost sure this has potential to trash your memory stick, don't do any of this without backing up any data you wish to keep.
1) You need to identify who made the memory stick. Download Chip Genius, look for the link at the bottom to chipgenius.rar.
2) Install Chip Genius, run it and plug in your memory stick.
3) You should see your stick listed and the useful details are in the bottom pane. Note down Chip Vendor and Chip Part-Number.
Example :
Unfortunately this screenshot was taken after I had removed the partition. The stick was listed as using the I and J drives initally.

4) Now you need the software for your brand/model at www.51stor.net. As the site is in Chinese I took as guess and put but part number into the search box and leaving the drop down as it was (I got lucky). In my case I downloaded and installed MDPT.

5) Run MDP, insert your USB stickand let the FABULK driver install.
6) Press F1 Setting and select your drive in my case UT163.

7) In the settings window do not change the Vendor Data. Click the Parameter Input tab and leave everything at the default values except the Serial Number Option. Set that to "Don't Change Serial Number".

8) Select the Partition Setting tab and as I was only after 1 partition in Public Area 1 click the partition option and make sure Auto is also ticked (should be done for you). Also as the memory was only 1GB, I left the file format at FAT rather than FAT32. Click OK.

9) Press SPACE or click the option to start the update. Things looked good when I saw the MDPT checking the memory stick and the formatting it.
10) Remove the memory stick.
11) In MDTP click Driver, Uninstall Driver and exit the program.Getting the driver uninstalled is the important part.
12) You are done hopefully all is well.
